History
Opened on 31 August 1863 this station had a passing loop with two platforms. It closed to freight on 5 April 1965 and completely on 7 March 1966. The signal-box stayed open right until the end of the line.
Current Status
The station has been totally demolished though it is possible that it could be rebuilt on its original site or very close by - an update would be most welcome! There is however still track in situ near the station site.

Future Plans
The station will be rebuilt giving villagers excellent services to Bournemouth, Exeter and London (via Templecombe) and to Bath and beyond.
