Corfe Mullen Halt

History
As the picturesque S&D left Broadstone and continued on towards Bailey Gate, it passed through Corfe Mullen and here there was a little halt. It was just a single platform with a shelter and it was opened on 9 September 1928. Passenger use ceased on 19 September 1956 and the track was lifted some thirteen years later after the Blandford freight trains ended.
Current Status
This halt had been built in a cutting but that has now been filled in and I believe that it forms part of someone's garden. The halt apparently still exists under all the earth.
Future Plans
With the intention of restoring trains to as many places en route as possible the halt will almost certainly be rebuilt when the line to Blandford is restored.
